MEETING WITH UNION TOURISM & CULTURE MINISTER

30 January 2020/ Had a meeting with Union Minister for Tourism and Culture, Prahlad Singh Patel at Shastri Bhavan in New Delhi. I discussed many issues related to the Tourism sector with the minister and apprised the minister of the huge loss to the Tourism sector in Union Territory of J&K during the past six months as a result of the situation in J&K.I also told the minister that this set-back to the Tourism sector has badly affected the livelihood of lakhs of people associated with the industry and requested the Minister to devise special incentives and packages for the Tourism sector in J&K so that the huge loss is compensated to some extent. Union Minister assured me that Central Government is taking some concrete multi-pronged measures to strengthen and boost the Tourism sector in J&K in the coming months.I also presented him my vision for revival of the ailing cultural organisations of the Union Territory and  told the minister that a cultural renaissance was the need of the time in J&K so that the real spirit of the land is promoted.Shri Prahlad Singh Patel told me that the ministry is preparing a comprehensive plan to promote the real cultural treasure of J&K and all ailing systems will soon be flourishing there.
