Timely decision in view of people's aspirations: Dr Darakhshan

Welcoming the amendments to the J&K domicile laws, Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday said it will ensure that all jobs were being reserved for “residents” of the Union Territory. In a statement, BJP spokesperson Darakhshan Andrabi termed the amendment as a “timely decision taken by the central government keeping in view the aspirations of the people.”  Andrabi said the government was willing to go to any extent to “usher new era of prosperity, development and peace in J&K.” She said the party was committed to give a “new Jammu and Kashmir” to people who have been subjected to “political exploitation, corruption and militancy by the ruling dispensations during the past 70 years.” “New job opportunities are being created in the UT in the days to come and this amendment will benefit local unemployed youth a lot”, said Andrabi.

MEETING WITH THE GOVERNOR


(23 May 2020)  Discussed with the Lt Governor  various important matters concerning the working of the Waqf Board and also shared with the Lt Governor my views about the prevailing scenario in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir and apprised him about several measures initiated by the Council for protection and retrieval of the Waqf Properties, besides implementation of Educational and Women Welfare Schemes for skill development.


MEETING WITH LIEUTENANT GOVERNOR OF J&K


 (5 March 2020) Met Lt Governor Shri G C Murmu at Jammu and apprised him about several measures initiated by the Central Waqf Council for protection and retrieval of the Waqf Properties. I also submitted a memorandum which included suggested measures for making the education sector more effective by way of making the public libraries and those in educational institutes better equipped with latest publications and books in various Modern Indian Languages. I also suggested rationalisation of the teaching faculty in educational institutions and the need for organizing Multi-Lingual Symposiums and cultural programs across the UT, restructuring of J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages etc. at the earliest.
