DARAKHSHAN'S PRESS CONFERENCE

The State Assembly has been turned into a flop show: Dr Darakhshan

“The whole of the state Assembly session has been turned into a flop showperformance by both ruling and the opposition representatives. Shouting and hungama making is being done only to score personal political marks,” said Socialistic Democratic Party President Dr Darakhshan Andrabi while addressing a Press Conference in Jammu today. SDP leaders Ajay Kumar, Gursagar Singh, Sanjay Manhas, Kamaljeet Singh and Yousuf Rather were also present on the occasion. Slamming the role of both ruling coalition as well as the entire opposition, SDP President expressed her dismay over dirty score-making hue and cry by the legislatures on non-issues so far  as the public aspirations are concerned. She said that in a democratic system, the people link their hopes to the floor of the house for redressal of their problems but unfortunately our politicians have now nourished the habit of selling sentiments and making mockery of the public aspirations. Dr Andrabi said that the biggest issue of the J&K state is its six decade long ailing political system which has left a common man quite helpless and alien in its own land. Dr Darakhshan said that the people of the state in both the divisions are facing great problems and every time they look towards their elected representatives, they are let down. She said that it had become a fashion for the legislators to create whole lot of hungame in Assembly and waste the time and wealth of the common man without giving them a bit of relief and redressal from the problems. Dr Darakhshan said that a complete political change is the only solution where this old drama-making political system ceases to be and it gets replaced by a fresh new educated and young political order as this was must for the health of the state.

SDP President welcomes fifty new delegates into the Party
“The people of the state have been deceived by the rulers of the state over the last six decades by selling dreams without letting any scope for their realization. Our political system has become a stingy pond in which no fresh water enters and thus it has started giving bad order,” said Socialistic Democratic Party President Dr Darakhshan Andrabi while addressing the public gathering at Bishnah today after welcoming fifty new delegates into SDP fold. SDP leader Peer Abdul Majeed Shah also addressed the gathering.  SDP General Secretary Ajay Kumar, State and Kamaljeet Singh also were present in the gathering. Many Panchs and sarpanchs led by Romesh Lal, Tarseem Lal and other prominent political workers including Ghirdhari Lal, Rattan Lan, Chajjuu Ram, Banarsi Das, Prem Kumar, Bodh Raj, Sham Lal, Ajay Kumar, Desh Raj, Tarseem, Chamael Singh and Bodh Raj were also inducted as delegates. Welcoming new delegates, SDP President appealed to the people of the state to throw out the rotten lot out of the new Assembly in 2014 elections so that we get rid of the exploitation by the old anti-people political mafia in the state. “The misfortunes of the people of J&K are because of our local politicians as they have exploited the people and fattened their properties and bank accounts by keeping people busy in exploitation. Enough is enough and now is the opportune time for the change,” said Dr Darakhshan. She appealed to the youth of the state to shun their association with these disguised autocrats and get freedom from the present ailing political order. Dr Andrabi said that the politics in the state has existed on only one agenda and that was the loot of the rights of the common misinformed or uninformed population of the state. Dr Darakhshan Andrabi slammed the present government for its failure in curbing the funds-misappropriation at the grass root level in all spheres of life in J&K.  “Our politicians are only the trouble makers for the people at large and their approaches and plans are consciously targeted at polarizing the regions of the state. They are the enemies of the state’s integrity,” said Darakhshan Andrabi.

13th February, 2013 (Valentine's Day Eve)

“The hate game between India and Pakistan should end now”: Darakhshan
On Indo-Pak Love & Peace Day Darakhshan sends her Valentine Message to Pakistan
“The hate game between India and Pakistan should end now. It has ruined two generations of the people of this state and we cannot afford to transfer this bloody legacy to our new generation. Peace and goodwill should replace terrorism and bloodshed,” said Socialistic Democratic Party President Dr Darakhshan Andrabi while addressing at the Indo-Pak Love & peace Day celebration organized by Socialistic Democratic Party as usual on the eve of Valentine’s Day at the Octroi Post on the Indo-Pak border in Suchetgarh area of Jammu today. Earlier she led her supporters in lighting candles in front of the image of Shaheed Lans Nayak Hem Raj who was beheaded by Pakistani troops at LOC in Poonch recently.  Shaheed was given a floral tribute on the occasion. The inscription on the image read: “We salute you for the great sacrifice you made. We cannot tolerate the disrespect of our brave soldiers anymore.” Dr Darakhshan Andrabi sent messages of love through white pigeons whom she flew to Pakistan in which an appeal was made to the politicians and the army top brass of that country to kindly desist from using guns in Jammu & Kashmir and change their policy of hatred and conspiracies for the good of the people of J&K specially and that of  the populace of both the countries generally. Dr Darakhshan and her team dispatched five hundred heart shaped balloons across the border with messages of love and peace printed on them. “Ours is a people’s initiative and only such public initiatives on both sides of the fence  will be instrumental in changing the six decade old hatred and ultimately change the situation of misfortunes to a situation of trust and love,” said Dr Darakhshan Andrabi. She said that gun culture had ruined Pakistan to the core and the country was being run by the terrorists there making the safety of common man causality there. “India and Pakistan have faced the brunt of terrorism and in spite of targeting each other; we should join hands to fight the propagators and executers of hatred in whole sub-continent. That will be good for both of us,” said Darakhshan Andrabi.

Raising voice for Doda Forest workers

Dr Darakhshan Andrabi demands implementation of labour laws in the Doda Forest Division
Socialistic Democratic Party President Dr Darakhshan Andrabi today addressed a Press Conference in Jammu loudly raising her voice in favour of the watch and ward staff of the Chinab Basin Forest Project of Doda.  “The watch and ward staff of the significant forest project has been deprived of their earned perks for months and years together by the forest department thus going against their own orders and plans,” said Socialistic Democratic Party President Dr Darakhshan Andrabi. SDP leaders General Secretary Ajay Kumar and State Youth President Gursagar Singh accompanied Dr Darakhshan Andrabi during the Press Briefing along with the Chinab Basin Forest Project Worker’s representatives Nawaz Ahmad and Ram Raj. Dr Andrabi termed this approach as the gross violation of the labour rights which has put these worker’s and their families into grave financial troubles. SDP president expressed her surprise over the non-implementation of the orders issued by the forest authorities regarding the absorption of this ground staff into the Forest Department and regularize their services. “While the department has already absorbed the other regular staff of the Project into the Forest department, the order of absorption in respect of these ground staff was not implemented on the reasons understandable to the common sense,” said Dr Darakhshan. Dr Darakhshan Andrabi said that it was a gross injustice on the part of the Project authorities to deprive these poor workers of the wages for so long. SDP President appealed to the Chief Minister to personally look into the matter and issue orders for the redressal of the genuine problems of these small workers on humanitarian grounds.

SDP Office at Bishnah

She said that central government funds are misappropriated and the common poor population of the state is not allowed to get the benefits of the centrally sponsored schemes made for the privileged sections of the society. “Political workers and the government executing authorities loot the funds of theses schemes and the poor are not at all benefited. There is nobody to hear to the grievances of the common man,” said Dr Darakhshan Andrabi. She said that corruption is the order of our state which drives our working system. Dr Andrabi appealed to the people to use the instrument of Right to Information Act (RTI) to seek the information from the government regarding the implementation of the central schemes in villages and the working details of the developmental plans and works in the area.

REPUBLIC DAY

“The sacrifice of armed forces on borders should not be allowed to be made hostage to the weak political will of our country”: Darakhshan                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                            SDP President unfurls Tri-Colour at Channi Hiummat at a public congregation today.

Dr Andrabi said that as a country we still lack the patriotic political strength to deal with the honour of our valorous armed forces. She expressed her dismay over the recent politicizing of the sacrifice of our two great soldiers who were disrespected to the unbearable level by the Pakistani soldiers in Poonch. Dr Andrabi said, “We as a nation have still to evolve as a proud union which deals very tough with the country’s enemies. We have to shun the appeasement policy which encourages anti-national forces within and out of the country.” Dr Darakhshan Andrabi appealed to the central government to shun its adhoc approach while dealing with the issues related to national integration and the safety and peace of the country. She said that when our security forces are doing their duties very satisfactorily after putting in the sacrifice of their lives and sweat, our politicians need to learn the ways and attitude of dealing with the sensitive national issues very toughly without doing cheap vote-bank politics.

Dr Darakhshan said that it was really surprising and shocking to see a huge population deprived of medical facilities. “A huge population of Zalapore is without a health sub centre. This seems quite astonishing in twenty first century,” said Dr Andrabi. She said that political bias has resulted in rejection of the people’s demands for establishment of a government medical centre in the area. Dr Darakhshan Andrabi said that again when we have multiple schools in small villages, the old Middle School of Zalapore was not considered for being promoted to a High School again on the behest of the political interference. Dr Andrabi said that the propaganda of development of Khansahib is all baseless and it gets defeated at the ground level when one sees the condition of the roads, water shortage everywhere and very poor electricity network in the villages. She accused the local administration of playing in the hands of the local political representatives. While speaking on the occasion Dr Darakhshan Andrabi said that the people of the area crave for basic amenities while the whole of the Kashmir looks and thinks beyond these problems. She said that it was unfortunate to see the political goondaism in operation in the area to curb the freedom of expression and opinion of the people. She appealed to the people of the area to get ready for a political change so that the condition of the people improves and the freedom from the sinister politics is ascertained. Dr Andrabi said that she had now taken up the mission of redeeming people of the parochial politics and giving them a politics of honesty and public service. “The people of the state are still in wait for the outcome of the series of Round Table Conferences and a long exercise of central interlocutors. DARAKHSHAN IN LOLAB

“Law & Order situation in J&K is directly related to the resolution of the political issues of the state”: Darakhshan
SDP organizes public rally at Diwar in Lolab
Socialistic Democratic Party today organized a public rally at Dewar in Lolab Assembly Constituency. It was the first public gathering of the party after the culmination of the first phase of the door to door campaign of the party in the area led by the SDP Party In-charge of Lolab Ali Jan Khan who presented his welcome address in which he highlighted the problems of the people of the area. SDP leaders Bashir Ahmad Shah, Abdul Qayoom Wani, Fayyaz Ahmad and  Abdul Rasheed War were also present on the occasion. Dr Darakhshan Andrabi in her address said that Lolab has suffered a lot during the last two decades as this was a prime disturbance location and again the government has paid least attention to the development and generation of employment in the area which has dejected the people of this beautiful border area. “The law and order situation in the area is still not good as claimed by the government and its security agencies because the main political issue of Jammu& Kashmir is left unresolved. And this prolonged delay in the resolution of the political issue of J&K is giving birth to hundreds and thousands of issues that have made the life of the people of the state a hell,” said Dr Darakhshan. She said that the Central government has been deceiving the people of the state by Round Table Conferences, State-Centre Agreements, and by sending Interlocutors etc and thus complicating the issues at the ground level. SDP President said that peace and development was conditional to the resolution of the political issues of the state of Jammu & Kashmir. Dr Andrabi said that the announcements of Special Recruitment Packages by the Prime Minister of India like his other announcements have not seen the light of the day even after the lapse of so many years. “Our local political leaders from NC, PDP and Congress during their spells as the rulers have only played the role of ‘cheer boys’ for the rulers of Delhi and thus compromised the rights of the people of J&K. The resentment among masses is the resentment against the ruling policy of New Delhi and the local political leaders too,” said Dr Andrabi.

DARAKHSHAN ADDRESSES RALLY AT SOPORE

SDP President Addresses a public rally at Warpora Sopore
“New Delhi is treating Jammu & Kashmir as a colony and not as a state. The irritating influence of New Delhi has penetrated every field of our life as a disturbance and it is badly itching in our social system,” said Socialistic Democratic party President Dr Darakhshan Andrabi while addressing the party rally at Warpora in Sopore. SDP has been working in Sopore town and its adjoining villages through a door-to-door contact programme and convincing people for a political change in the area. SDP Sopore representative Abdul Rashid War had led the party programme in Sopore. In his welcome address A R War said that he was sure that J&K will get a very bold and honest political leadership in the shape of Darakhshan Andrabi who has guts to be leader of integrity. SDP President led a road rally after addressing the gathering. In her address Dr Darakhshan said that all politicians of the state have gimmicked with the people and in the history of J&K from 1947, she sees nobody who had sincerity in his political role. She said that different written or unwritten agreements from our local leadership for the only aim of getting or remaining comfortable in power have weakened our say in the issues related to us and now we are treated as second class citizens within our own place. “New Delhi wants puppets to represent them here and uses its agencies to reach this goal. These puppets work as per the dictates of New Delhi and the local aspirations remain unfulfilled and when the irritating intervention crosses limits, people come to streets and unfortunately in place of looking into their own faults, our so-called Kashmir Experts from New Delhi try to label the agitators as the planted agents. “The people of Kashmir are still in the garb of insecurity. With broad chests, our leaders issue futwas regarding the situation because they live under the siege of the security agencies. Let us shun the old habit of shouting zaroor-zaroor to these Delhi planted monarchs and come out for a political change where we are the decision makers and the people’s concerns are of the prime importance,” said Darakhshan Andrabi.

It is a politically guided mission to derail the Panchayati System in Jammu & Kashmir: SDP President
25 new political workers from other parties from Akhnoor constituency join SDP at a function organised at SDP Headquarters

Panchayats in Jammu & Kashmir have been made casualty to the political misadventures. The Operation Fear is a politically guided mission to derail the Panchayati system in Jammu & Kashmir. Unfortunately our state government is a part of this mission as it has allowed the elected representatives to feel insulted by refusing them proper powers and failing in providing them proper security system”, said Dr Darakhshan Andrabi, the President of Socialistic Democratic Party. While addressing the party leaders and newly inducted members at Party headquarters in Jammu, SDP President said that throughout the state the elected Panchs and Sarpanchs are very annoyed with the government as they have not been properly empowered to deliver at the grass root level. She said that they have been made non- decision making bodies subservient to the political workers of the ruling class in their respective areas. “Majority of the Panchs and Sarpanchs are from non-ruling class and hence government has hesitated in empowering Panchayats as promised. This has dejected these elected representatives and it is becoming one more big reason of alienation at the grass root level within the state,” said Darakhshan. She said that the process of threatening and killing Panchs and Sarparchs is a part of that big organized political mission on which many of our political leaders and their groups rely. She asked the state government to take a serious note of this all and immediately take steps to empower the Panchayats as promised and again think of the security of these elected grass root representatives at all costs. She also demanded that a reasonable monthly salary be fixed for these valourous elected  representatives.

“Not any system but the political exploitation rules Banihal and its adjoining villages: Dr Darakhshan Andrabi
“Banihal has been turned into a land of scams”: SDP President
SDP organizes Public Rally at Ukhral in Banihal

“Banihal villages reflect the failure of the government in managing the equal development of all areas of the state. The people of this hilly area have been politically exploited and it is not the government but the backwardness that is ruling Banihal and its rural hamlets,” said Dr Darakhshan Andrabi while addressing a public rally at hilly village Ukhral in Banihal Assembly segment. This rally was organized by SDP District president for Ramban Peer Abdul Majid Shah who also spoke on the occasion along with SDP General Secretary Ajay Kumar. In his address Peer Abdul Majid presented a comprehensive picture of the political exploitation of Banihal by the government and requested the people to get united for fighting for the basic rights of the people. Dr Darakhshan Andrabi said that Banihal villages present a picture of the state of 1947. She said that the development funds are looted in the constituency and the money is withdrawn for the works of the past years presenting them as fresh. She said that Indira Aawas Yojna is a complete failure in whole of the belt. The money is all misused and illegally managed. She said that the people of Banihal should come out united demanding a CBI investigation for scams in the implementation of various centrally sponsored schemes in Banihal area. “This huge gathering is an indicator that people of these hilly areas are fed up with the present working system in the area and want change. All those who got the votes of these innocent poor people only looted them and exploited them like the old monarchs of yesteryears,” said Dr Darakhshan. Women’s empowerment programmes and social welfare schemes are implemented only on paper and unemployment is the fate of the educated youth. Dr Andrabi called on the youth of the hilly areas to initiate a political change as the old political orders have only exploited the people. SDP had organized a langer in the area for the people who came to participate in the rally.
