                    Socialistic Democratic Party President Dr Darakhshan Andrabi today criticized the state government partners and the opposition parties for deceiving the people of the state by addressing to their political interests only and ignoring the public welfare at large for which people had voted them in the last elections. Dr Darakhshan was addressing a huge public rally at Birpur in Bari Brahamna area of Jammu organized by the party for seeking public support and votes for SDP Parliamentary candidate for Jammu-Poonch seat Sardar Gursagar Singh Isher who was also present in the rally along with party General Secretary Ajay Kumar. SDPleader Balvinder Kour had organized the rally and in her address she said that SDP was the only political force which people were looking at as a substitute to the politics of failure which they have experienced throught the past six decades. “The present government has failed at all fronts and only dismay and dejection is what they have given to the people of the state. Again opposition camp has also played a very dirty role and they have done everything to polarize the society for their political interests,” said SDP President Dr Darakhshan Andrabi. She said that visionless politicians had destroyed the working systems in every sphere of life and we all have been forced to sail in the rudderless boat. She said that in the recently concluded session of the Assembly, both the government and the opposition camps have humiliated our democracy and all the representatives together have wasted our time and money only. “It is shameful on the part of our legislators across party lines to act for their petty political interests at the cost of the public money and time,” said Darakhshan Andrabi. SDP President said that the politics in J&K has proved to be a tool of exploitation only and that is why people want change now. She appealed to people not to repeat their mistake of electing the old rotten political lot which has disappointed them. Dr Darakhshan Andrabi sought support and vote for Sardar Gursagar Singh Isher saying, “Gursagar is the true representative of SDP, an honest political ideology with a practical manifesto and clear developmental vision and work-plan. We assure all a true people-oriented democratic representation and thus appeal for vote and support for Gursagar Singh.”

Dr Darakhshan Andrabi distributed packets of rice and atta among the poor residents of the locality. She said that the real politics was the politics of social service and SDP has been in the practical social service since the inception of the party.

 In his address, Gursagar Singh also requested the people to vote for him and feel the real power of a democratic system. He said that he has vowed to serve the exploited people of J&K like a dedicated servant. Local public representatives Chedu Ram and Pyara Singh also addressed the gathering and assured Dr Darakhshan of the support of whole of the Bari Brahamna population.

Dr Darakhshan seeks vote for Gursagar Singh Isher                                                                                                               SDP President briefs media on the agenda of SDP for Parliamentary polls

A special press briefing session was organized by SDP today at its Central office in Jammu where SDP President Dr Darakhshan Andrabi made her first vote appeal to the electorate of Jammu-Poonch Parliamentary constituency for party candidate Sardar Gursagar Singh Isher who was also present on the occasion. Addressing to media persons SDP President said that it was the right time for the conscious electorate to go for a political change and she was hopeful of tremendous public support and votes in favour of Gursagar Singh Isher. ‘The people should not believe those who have disappointed them now and then and have disrespected the choice of the public by ignoring the problems and demands of the electorate. People should give SDP a chance to represent them and test our honesty and public commitment for which we have been striving and struggling in the state for the past few years,’ said Dr Darakhshan. She requested to the electorate to scrutinize SDP Election manifesto and also keep in consideration the potentialities and track records of the parties and their representatives while voting this time. Dr Darakhshan Andrabi said that the issue of permanent settlement of the refugees of POK is at the priority of our party’s manifesto and we will struggle within the state and at the central level also to give the over delayed right to the POK refugees. ‘We will be struggling for the reconstitution of the activity management of the funds marked for the development of the Scheduled Tribes in the state. We are in favour of allocation of these funds at the District and Block levels with District and Block representatives from the community representing the Gujjar & Bakerwal Development Board. Again we will be implementing the earlier revoked decision of ST appointments on inter-district levels also. SDP stands for the political reservation of Scheduled Tribes and Scheduled Castes in the state. ,’ said SDP President. She again said that Special developmental packages for Scheduled Tribes and Scheduled Castes are at our priority list for the overall development of these backward sections of the society.  ‘Like other areas of the state, we stand for the establishment of the significant Jammu-Poonch Rail line, which will revolutionize the life in Jammu- Division, said SDP President. Dr Andrabi emphasized on the party’s agenda of seeking special concessions in electric tariff and twenty four hour electricity to the state in lieu of the Indo-Pak Water treaty done at the cost of the state’s resources by the central government. Dr Darakhshan said that SDP has prioritized the drinking water supply to all in the state to all as we have devised complete working plans for these sectors to be implemented. ‘ SDP has a unique Employment programme devised by us with consultation of national and international level experts to address to the grave problem of unemployment in the state and we want to implement this programme if we are given a chance to represent our people,’ said Dr Darakhshan.

SDP Organizes public meeting in jogi Gate, Distributes blankets among poor

                15 Feb......    Socialistic Democratic Party  president Dr Darakhshan Andrabi today addressed a public meeting at Ward no 6, Jogi Gate, Shaheedi Chowk where she sought public vote and support for SDP’s Parliamentary candidate Gursagar Singh Isher who was also present in the meeting.The meet was organized by SDP leader Balwinder Kour.  “Vote for SDP means a vote for the real democracy in the state and SDP is the only public oriented political alternative for the people to get rid of the exploiting politics,’ said Dr Darakhshan Andrabi in her address. One hundred fifty new political workers from different segments of society acquired the membership of the party. SDP President welcomed them into SDP fold. Sardar Gursagar Singh Isher assured the gathering that he and his party will as a part of the party manifesto take the development to the grass root level and strengthen a common man economically and socially. Dr Darakhshan Andrabi said that all those who recently showed their ugly faces of misconduct on the floor of the house are the labels of the same product. She said that in J&K, we have been unfortunate to a great extent to have had a political leadership of very narrow mentality and thus this state is called the troubled state. “We have to get this troubled state soon out of trouble and for that we need to overhaul our political system. SDP is a clean political force which can usher a real spirit of democracy in the state,” said SDP. Dr Darakhshan said that the economic condition of a common man has not improved at all and majority of the worker’s class was still earning its livelihood with great difficulty.  Feb 12/ ‘Remote border areas of the state are without the basic facilities of life. People of these areas have been exploited by the politicians during the last sixty years,’ said Socialistic Democratic Party President Dr Darakhshan Andrabi today while addressing a huge public rally at village Agarti in Rajouri today. The rally was organized by SDP District President for Rajouri Choudhary Mohammad Aslam. In addition to SDPDistrict President the public rally was addressed by SDP nominee for Jammu-Poonch Parliamentary seat Gursagar Singh and General Secretary Ajay Kumar. Earlier on her arrival at Agarati, SDP President was accorded warm welcome by locals by beating the traditional drums and showering flower petals on the leadership of SDP. In her address Dr Darakhshan Andrabi said that both the ruling class and the opposition has exploited the people and they have been deliberately deprived of the true democratic spirit for the vote bank politics. She said that the spirit of the change at political level has reached Rajouri also and the people of the district have made up their mind to give SDP a chance to represent them now. Dr Andrabi said that the immense response of the people of this backward hill district to the Membership drive of SDP is quite encouraging and we are sure that in the days to come, Rajouri will be represented by SDP as will be majority of the backward areas of the state. Hailing the ground level political networking initiated by Choudhary Mohammad Aslam, SDP President said that more and more people, welfare organizations and NGOs are coming out in support of SDP Parliamentary candidate. ‘No sentimental slogans can work now, people need concrete display of redressal of grievances and problems related to public,’ said Dr Darakhshan Andrabi. Some prominent local representatives including Haji Mohammad Ashraf, Haji Shahejahan, Mohammad Nazir, Rozia, Ruqayya Bewgum and Rafeeqa Begum also spoke.

Socialistic Democratic Party President Dr Darakhshan Andrabi today criticized the state government for behaving in the manner of road-Romeos while making unnecessary hue and cry and confusion in the minds of the people with regard to the formation of new administrative units in Jammu & Kashmir. “The coalition drama on new administrative unit formation in J&K is a stage mockery. Government seems to be in a hurry to by hook or crook make through the defective formation for political interests only. Government wants to divert the attention of the people from the disappointing performance of the present government at all fronts,” said SDP President. Dr Darakhshan Andrabi said that political favour and fervor has superseded all feasibilities needed for the formation of new administrative units in Jammu & Kashmir. She said that when on every vital issue concerning the people’s welfare, the coalition partners were on road side scuffle every now and then spreading venom against each other’s policies, and then what other than enjoying the luxury of power binds them together to be in coalition. “It is in no way a process of creating new administrative units in the state, but in reality it is a process of misleading people yet again. The leadership of both the coalition partners has made a joke of their party’s credibility,” said Darakhshan Andrabi. SDP President said that the present government has failed to prove itself a unit even after a long five years friendship of compromise and self-interests and their credibility in the masses has eroded to a level where the framing of new administrative units at this juncture was being looked as a suspicious exercise by the people. She said that this exploitation of sentiments at the time of elections has been a practice of all the political parties of the state right from 1947. Dr Darakhshan Andrabi said that nothing will be achieved politically by the ruling coalition by this tricky move full of defects and controversies as the people were wise enough to decide their representatives on a fresh scale of understanding at a very objective level now. She said that the state of Jammu & Kashmir had clearly decided to go for a political change after rejection all rotten political ideas and their propagators and go for a fresh political system in J&K.

Raising Voice for Khidmat Workers

SDP President Dr Darakhshan Andrabi led the demonstration of thousands of Khidmat workers who assembled outside  Press Club in Jammu protesting against Government's deliberate attempt to make the e- centers dysfunctional and  thus playing with the sentiments of the youth. Dr Andrabi was accompanied by State Youth President SDP Sardar Gursagar Singh Isher. In her address Dr Darakhshan Andrabi said that government first engaged thousands of youth at Khidmat Centers and announced that it was the base for e-governance in J&K. "But unfortunately this announcement and decision as usual was a mockery which played with the future of thousands of talented youth of the state," said SDP President. She asked the Chief Minister to explain his position as the agitated youth brigade of the society cannot tolerate this joking with their carrier. She asked the government to immediately pay the outstanding remuneration to the youth or otherwise be ready for the agitation.

On Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji's Birth Anniversary SDP President Dr Darakhshan Andrabi and SDP State Youth President Sardar Gursagar Singh Isher attended the Gurpurab Congregation held at Bibi Chand Kour Gurudwara at Jewel Chowk in Jammu. SDP President said that the teaching of peace and brotherhood of the spiritual Guru, poet, scholar and warrior Sri Guru Gobind Sigh Ji is universal relevant to all times. She asked the leaders and preachers of all communities to try to uphold the inclusive teachings of the religions and create an atmosphere of real bond between different faiths.

                                  SDP President Dr Darakhshan Andrabi addressed a public gathering at Town Hall in Ganderbal. Other SDP leaders who addressed the gathering  included Dr Nissar Ahmad, SDP State Provincial Secretary (Kashmir), Engineer Ghulam Hassan, SDP District President Ganderbal and Aijaz Rashid and Mohammad Amin. In her address Dr Darakhshan sais that it was surprising to see the high profile constituencies of Ganderbal represented by Minister and the Chief Minister in such a backward condition. "People have been cheated by false slogans and nothing concrete has been done at the ground level.

SDP President Dr Darakhshan Andrabi declared the name of Sardar Gursagar Singh Isher as the party nominee for contesting the ensuing Parliamentary elections. Dr Darakhshan Andrabi also presented the party manifesto to the press. Gursagar Singh Isher shared his political vision under Dr Andrabi's leadership.

                                        Socialistic Democratic Party President Dr Darakhshan Andrabi today addressed a Press Conference at Party Central Office in Jammu in support of the demands of the displaced Kashmiri Pundits. “Even after more than two decades, the intellectual and educated community of Kashmir is living a life of distress and dejection away from home in exile. The state government is completely hostile to the problems of KPs and their resolution,” said SDP President. Referring to the killing price-hike, Dr Darakhshan said that the relief given to the displaced community was not at all sufficient and should be increased to ten thousand per family immediately. She said that the state government was sleeping at the Central government special job package for the displaced youth under KPs rehabilitation policy ads it was not in their interests. “The very long delay in filling up of the remaining posts allotted and funded specially by the central government for Kashmiri Pundit youth was creating suspicion about the designs of the state government,” said Dr Andrabi. She demanded that these vacant places allotted by the central government be filled without any delay before the process gets blocked by Election Restrictions. Dr Darakhshan said that the displaced community is facing problems in disbursement of ration in time which troubles the troubled community. “It is the responsibility of the government to ascertain the disbursement of ration well in time to the migrants so that they at least feed their families without problems,” said SDP President. Dr Darakhshan also pleaded for the demand of the community to amend the family bifurcation policy for relief purposes. She said that in absence of a long time convincing government policy, the community was completely dejected and had lost faith in the government. “The migration of Kashmiri pundits is a blot on the secular traditions of Kashmir, and we all should think on it very seriously. By occasional announcements about KPs being inseparable part of Kashmir we cannot be justified in delivering our duties. We have to show it practically,” said Dr Darakhshan Andrabi.

Engineer Ghulam Hassan, a senior leader of Democratic Party Nationalist (DPN) today formally joined Socialistic Democratic Party at Press Club Jammu in presence of SDP President Dr Darakhshan Andrabi. SDP President welcomed Engineer Ghulam Hassan formally into party fold by garlanding him. Later both Engineer Ghulam Hassan and SDP supremo Dr Darakhshan Andrabi addressed the press and media persons. Engineer Ghulam Hassan was a senior leader of DPN hailing from Laar area of Ganderbal. “The democratic system in Jammu &Kashmir Kashmir has been high jacked by the agency-make-politicians who indulge in looting the public wealth for their personal gains on interest sharing basis and he and his team was also a prey to this unfortunate exploitation.” One more political leader of DPN Mohammad Amin also joined SDP. Engineer Hassan expressed his views after joining SDP. He said that he had chosen politics to serve his people but he and his dedicated honest political group was disappointed by the politics of exploitation and that was why we all resigned from our old association and after seeing a politics of difference led by Dr Andrabi chose to join SDP which is a party of un-tainted educated youth of the state. ‘Whole of the state is seriously thinking about a political change in the days to come as the drama of politics has dejected and disappointed the common populace of the state’, said  Dr Darakhshan Andrabi. She said that majority of our MLA’s have utterly failed to provide basic facilities to common masses but they raise the national and international issues to remain in news and those who are there to sort out such issues speak of their confusion publicly  ‘People in all the regions of the state have been divided and the politics of hate is underway at a big scale. Unfortunately the political attitude of our politicians of today is the same as that of early post-Maharaja age. Our political system has not evolved at all,’ said SDP President. She said that the people have understood the tricks of our political representatives and now they are not to work anymore. ‘I am myself witness to public anger against the democratically elected representatives in most of the segments in both the divisions of the state and that assures me that most of them will not return to the Assembly again,’ said Dr Darakhshan.

Darakhshan visits hailstorm affected areas of SUKHNAAG area

Dr Darakhshan Andrabi toured all the villages of the upper belt of Sukhnag area which were hit by the hailstorm which destroyed the crops and fruits to a great extent. She had invited Deputy Commissioner Budgam and SDM Khansahib also to access the loss  and provide relief to the effected villagers.

SDP Delegation led by Dr Darakhshan Andrabi met the J&K State Governor Shri N N Vohra at Rajbhavan on 26th August 2013. Maulana Sheikh Abdul Ghani, Mohammad Akram Dar, Abdul Ahad Thoker, Bashir Ahmad Reshi and Abdul Ahad Bhat were part of the delegation. Dr Darakhshan presented a memorandum to the Governor.

                             Socialistic Democratic Party President Dr Darakhshan Andrabi today lead a public procession organized by the party in village Kenroo in Budgam district. She also undertook a door-to-door contact programme and met the people at their doorsteps and listened to their problems. Dr Darakhshan later addressed the gathering. SDP Provincial Secretary Dr Nissar Ahmad, District President Mohammad Akram Dar, Youth leader Mohammad Amin Beg and other block presidents of the districts were present on the occasion who also addressed the gathering. In her speech Dr Darakhshan Andrabi said that under a big political controversy this whole area has been left to backwardness so that the people are exploited for political gains. “The political representative of the area and all the previous governments are responsible for the apathy and troubles of these very backward areas. Deprive and exploit is the rule which the political representatives have adhered to,” said Dr Darakhshan Andrabi. She criticized the government, the MLA and the administration of snatching the basic rights of the people in this area. Dr Andrabi termed it the trait of Yazeed to deprive the people of basic water supply facility. She said that the healthcare is a distant facility for the people in this hutment. “People need to travel long-long distances for very small medical facilities and the ration supply too. One feels here as if one lives in pre-47 era,” said SDP President. She hailed the people for their decision of a political change in the coming Assembly elections and assured them full help from her and SDP.
