SDP merges into BJP

JAMMU, NOV 1: The State unit of BJP got further strengthened when Socialistic Democratic Party (SDP), under its State President Dr. Darakhshan Andrabi, merged into BJP besides a large number of social activists joining the party on the occasion. The new entrants led by Dr Andrabi were garlanded and welcomed into the party fold by State President and MP Jugal Kishore Sharma, Leader of Legislative party Ashok Khajuria, State Election Campaign Committee Chairman Dr. Nirmal Singh, State General Secretaries Ashok Kaul, Kavinder Gupta and Bali Bhagat besides party MLA Sham Choudhary. Jugal Kishore Sharma, on the occasion said that BJP is heading towards becoming the dominant and the largest party due to its popularity and acceptability among all in Jammu & Kashmir and SDP’s merger has strengthened our base throughout the state. He said that the merger of SDP and joining of such a large number of people drawn from different walks of life
will obviously prove to take BJP to new heights. Ashok Khajuria said that the entire length and breadth of the state is yearning for the victory of BJP in the ensuing assembly elections. The party's slogan 'BJP Lao Pradesh Bachao' is attracting the attention of the masses and we are getting overwhelming response. There is no doubt that with each passing day, BJP is reaching closer to government formation in J&K.
 Ashok Kaul said that the much awaited "Achche Din" have begun as the people themselves are realizing that in the shortest time the BJP led government under Narendra Modi has been displaying its commitment for good governance, corruption free administration, bringing down price line and working for common people.He prased Dr Darakhshan for her nationalistic and pan-India ideology.
Dr. Darakhshan Andrabi, while briefing about the merger of SDP into BJP, said that the slogan of change, has been echoing in every nook and corner of J&K and the whole nation is looking towards the people's decision to show door to NC, Congress and PDP and bring in BJP which has proved its credentials during four month rule at the centre. She said that her new political innings will be equally important so far her contribution to the peace, development and service through politics was concerned.

“Government should come out with Priority Guidelines regarding  relief after natural calamities”: Dr Darakhshan                                  

Socialistic Democratic Party President Dr Darakhshan Andrabi today visited Kachwari village in Budgam where a fire had gutted many houses resulting in a huge damage to the property. She was accompanied by SDP leader Dr Nissar Ahmad Dar. Dr Darakhshan met the villagers who had lost their houses in the village and assured them full help. She also assured them that she will be taking up the issue of their rehabilitation with the district administration and with expedite the process of their rehabilitation.  “I demand to the state government to devise Priority Guidelines regarding relief and rehabilitation of the people who are hit by natural calamities. It will help the people in distress without facing the difficulties as is a practice in our state,” said Dr Darakhshan. SDP President said that those who are affected by natural calamities should not face doo-to-door humiliation for their rehabilitation. Dr Andrabi said that it was surprising to see no political representative or administrative officer visiting the fire victims. She said that the government should expedite the process of the rehabilitation of these homeless people who will suffer due to the cold climate if they are not provided with financial help. She said that she will soon try to provide some help to the sufferers.

“People of Kashmir have been exploited by politicians for the last six decades by different politicians and political parties of J&K,” said Dr Darakhshan Andrabi while addressing a district level SDP workers’ Convention in the Town Hall of Kulgam. After successfully completing the first phase of door-to-door membership drive in all the blocks of Kulgam district, SDP District President Bilal Ahmad Bhat had convened the Convention to assess the party’s Public Contact Programme of the district. Other leaders who addressed the convention included Dr Nissar Ahmad, Engineer Ghulam Hassan and Choudhary Mohammad Aslam. In her address Dr Darakhshan Andrabi said that the irony of Kashmir has been that the public representatives rather than addressing the basic public needs have been selling the sentiments to people. She said that the real issue of Kashmir is the issue of eradication of the politics of exploitation. “Politicians have given us nothing but deprivation of basic amenities. The myopic vision of our politicians has remained a barricade in our dream of self-sufficiency,’ said Dr Darakhshan Andrabi. She asked the people to go for a change and vote for development only. “SDP is the only local political group which has devised extensive scientific survey based economic reconstruction plan for the state targeted to the economic self-sufficiency of the state,” said Dr Darakhshan Andrabi.

Darakhshan Meets Union Home Minister & Presents VISION DOCUMENT

NEW DELHI, May 30: Socialistic Democratic Party (SDP) president Dr Darakhshan Andrabi met the Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh in his office here today and presented the vision document of her party on J&K’s economic development. The document prepared by the party, under the guidance of Dr Darakhshan is an extensive study of the economy of the J&K State conducted by the party with the assistance of reputed economists  and carries the suggestive plans for strengthening the local resources  and developing  State’s shattered economy.
Dr Darakhshan Andrabi expressed that by placing development and peace as the thrust points of NDA Government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the national level, the people in J&K have nurtured great hopes for the good days ahead. The SDP leader further expressed hope that the new Government  at New Delhi will surely restructure the J&K policy to address the ailments of politics of the State which has exploited the people for decades. The Home Minister assured Dr Andrabi that the Central Government will seriously study her party’s vision document  and try to generate special job opportunities for the unemployed youth of the troubled J&K State.

31st May 2014 (New Delhi): Socialistic Democratic Party President Dr Darakhshan Andrabi today held a detailed meeting with Dr Jitender Singh, Minister of State in Prime Minister's Office at New Delhi. She presented a Memorandum for the Prime Minister regarding the state of Jammu & Kashmir. In her memorandum SDP President demanded a special economic and employment package for the state of J&K. She also demanded the establishment of a mega Industrial base in the state for giving a boost to the state's shattered economy. Dr Andrabi demanded special concession in Power sector to the state of Jammu & Kashmir in lieu of the Indus Water Treaty. Dr Jitender Singh assured Dr Andrabi that the new government under the leadership of Narendra Modi will be working on a new J&K policy where politics of exploitation and opportunism is not encouraged. He assured Dr Darakhshan of special economic up-liftment of J&K in the days to come.

SDP reiterates its decision of support to BJP Candidate for Udhampur Lok Sabha seat

                 13 April: Socialistic Democratic Party President Dr Darakhshan Andrabi today reiterated party’s support to BJP candidate for Udhampur-Kathua seat Dr Jitendra Singh while addressing a Press Conference at SDP headquarter in Jammu. SDP President had addressed a public rally at Kishtwar yesterday afternoon in presence of Dr Jitendra Singh in which she announced her party’s decision to support BJP candidate in Udhampur parliamentary seat. “During the tenure of Atal Bihari Vajpai as Prime Minister of India, J&K saw the real development at the ground level for the first time and his peace initiatives were very favorable for the people of J&K. He started a genuine process of dialogue within the state and with Pakistan also which had begun a new era of peace and development. After a gap of ten years of exploitation of the state, we expect a lot from Narendra Modi as the next Prime Minister,” said Dr Darakhshan. Today in her address to the press at Jammu, Dr Andrabi asked the people to vote for Dr Jitendra Singh as he was a very dedicated social servant and a honest politician. Dr Andrabi said that it was the time to initiate a positive political change in the state and the country. She asked the people to choose a substitute to the person who spoke a lot while in power but at the ground level in the constituency did nothing worthwhile. “The only thing the present government earned for itself was its efficiency in scams and loot of the resources of the country and hence people like Jitendra Singh need to be supported so that he replaces the old lot,” said SDP President.
