Raising voice for migrant KPs

State Government unconcerned with KPs: Darakhshan

Central Rehabilitation Programme for the community kept on hold: SDP President

Socialistic Democratic Party President Dr Darakhshan Andrabi today addressed a Press Conference at Party Central Office in Jammu in support of the demands of the displaced Kashmiri Pundits. “Even after more than two decades, the intellectual and educated community of Kashmir is living a life of distress and dejection away from home in exile. The state government is completely hostile to the problems of KPs and their resolution,” said SDP President. Referring to the killing price-hike, Dr Darakhshan said that the relief given to the displaced community was not at all sufficient and should be increased to ten thousand per family immediately. She said that the state government was sleeping at the Central government special job package for the displaced youth under KPs rehabilitation policy ads it was not in their interests. “The very long delay in filling up of the remaining posts allotted and funded specially by the central government for Kashmiri Pundit youth was creating suspicion about the designs of the state government,” said Dr Andrabi. She demanded that these vacant places allotted by the central government be filled without any delay before the process gets blocked by Election Restrictions. Dr Darakhshan said that the displaced community is facing problems in disbursement of ration in time which troubles the troubled community. “It is the responsibility of the government to ascertain the disbursement of ration well in time to the migrants so that they at least feed their families without problems,” said SDP President. Dr Darakhshan also pleaded for the demand of the community to amend the family bifurcation policy for relief purposes. She said that in absence of a long time convincing government policy, the community was completely dejected and had lost faith in the government. “The migration of Kashmiri pundits is a blot on the secular traditions of Kashmir, and we all should think on it very seriously. By occasional announcements about KPs being inseparable part of Kashmir we cannot be justified in delivering our duties. We have to show it practically,” said Dr Darakhshan Andrabi.

“Autocracy in the garb of democracy has exploited the people in the state”: Darakhshan

Dr Darakhshan Andrabi addressed a huge public gathering at village Hokhletter in Budgam

“ The political system in J&K is not different  at all from the autiocracy of the past. The democratic system is being used for exploiting the common masses. The ways and means of the autocracy have emerging in new shapes and the common man has been made a slave to the will of political system and bureaucracy,” said Dr Darakhshan Andrabi while addressing a huge public gathering at village Hokhletter in Budgam district today. She said that the whole of the Sokhnag belt of Budgam presents a picture of Kashmir of pre-47 and it was the real introduction of our political system in J&K. Dr Darakhshan Andrabi visited the whole of the village on foot and talked to the people at their door steps. She said that the deplated roads in whole of Sokhnag belt speak of the depalation of the minds of the politicians who have been representing this area for a long time now. She also said that the condition of the roads portray the real approach of the ruling politicians towards the people. “The government school in the area is one of the oldest schools of Kashmir opened by the government in Bakhshi Ghulam Mohammad’s rule and despite ibncrease in the students manifold, it has not been upgraded by aa single class in the last half century,” said Dr Darakhshan. She said that the step-mothery treatment of the government and the local elected representative has deprived this area of the basic amenties and facilities even. “This is the area of cattle rearers and their demand of establishment of a Vaternery Centre in this area has also been ignored. For the people in this area, there is no government, there is no democracy,” roared Dr Andrabi. Striking hard at the government and the local political representative, Dr Andrabi said that one is reminded of tales of cruel Kashmiri King Meherkula in this area while listening to the pathetic woes and wales of the ignored population. LAND MAFIA A GREAT THREAT TO THE STATE: DARAKHSHAN

   19 APRIL 2013
“Land misuse has been legalized by the                 government”:  Dr Darakhshan                                                         SDP President criticizes the government for allowing land mafia jugglery in the state and putting the future of the state to great ecological & environmental risk .
“The land mafia is ruling the state. Laws for Protection of our agricultural land are just on the paper and the ground reality is quite against it,” said Socialistic Democratic Party President Dr Darakhshan Andrabi while addressing the Press Conference at Party Central Office today. Unplanned development of our cities and unchecked status change of land in rural areas has put our life to a great risk and our government is quite unconcerned said SDP President. Dr Darakhshan Andrabi expressed her worry that the let-free attitude of the government towards the land mafia in the state has put the situation out of the hand of everybody. “In the name of the oral gifts, the treasuries are deprived of levy worth crores of rupees by this mafia and this all happens in connivance of the ruling class. The commission agency attitude of our government departments and agencies has ruined the whole of the land management in the state,” said Dr Darakhshan Andrabi. SDP President expressed her concern over the fast shrinking agricultural land in the state and slammed the ruling politicians and bureaucrats for declaring the cultivable land as marsh and barren just to certify its use for construction purposes. “The defective housing and developmental plans of the state government are responsible for unchecked concretization of the state of J&K which is proving hazardous for the ecology of our state,” said Dr Darakhshan Andrabi. She said that J&K being a state of the interior Himalayan region was ecologically very sensitive and this mafia-led change in the nomenclature of our land was gravely and adversely affecting our whole ecosystem which in the coming years was undoubtedly enough to make our lives hell in this paradise like state. “Those who tirelessly make big claims of putting the state of J&K on the path of development are in the real context putting us on the path of destruction and annihilation. The poor understanding of our rulers about the ecology and environment of J&K is leading us to a catastrophe of the days to come,” said Dr Darakhshan. Dr Darakhshan Andrabi said that the Agricultural Ministry of the state was completely unconcerned with this great and vital issue.

Raising Voice against FAKE MEDICINES

16 April 2013

J&K is a big market of sub-standard medicines and drugs: Dr Darakhshan
“For commissions, the lives of common people are put to great risk,”says SDP President
Socialistic Democratic Party President Dr Darakhshan Andrabi today addressed a Press Conference at party headquarter at Jammu which was attended by Party General Secretary Ajay Kumar also. In her address Dr Darakhshan expressed her grave concern over the recent hue and cry in Kashmir valley over spurious drugs and medicines sold to the people in open markets. Dr Darakhshan said, “Whole of the Jammu & Kashmir state is the hub of sub-standard medicines and drugs. The lives of the people are put to great risk for mere commissions from the manufacturers. The Drug Controller’s Office is meaningless and irrelevant in the state.” SDP President slammed government of maintaining silence over the most sensitive issue concerning the health of the common man. She said that the working in our medical institutions was all defective and the system in the government hospitals and medical centers had been derailed only to facilitate the private medical centers and private medical institutions. Dr Darakhshan Andrabi said that the last years’ GB Panth Hospital expose in Srinagar was the indicator of our deteriorating health services in the state. She said that the situation in whole of the state was the same. “How can we expect any check on the system as the government has allowed the medical resources of the state to turn into business centers? We are living on a live killer volcano and don’t find any escape route to save our selves,” said Dr Andrabi in a very low tune. She said that the public worry and hue and cry about the spurious medicines and drugs being sold in the state without any fear and check seems unheard by the rulers who seem totally indifferent to this grave issue. “Is the government directly involved in this huge scam?” asked Darakhshan. She appealed to the Union Health Minister to take direct action soon so that the lives of the people are saved and the people’s lives are not put to more risk. She also demanded a CBI probe into the whole issue as the state government was not at all interested in addressing to the issue. “We cannot afford and allow the safety of the ommon man to be put to risk for petty commissions,” said Dr Darakhshan Andrabi.

SDP ORGANISES DISTRICT LEVEL PARTY CONVENTION IN WATERHEIL BUDGAM
Socialistic Democratic Party today organized a district level party convention at Waterhail in Budgam which was chaired by party president Dr Darakhshan Andrabi. The convention reviwed the party working in the district and devised the political strategies for future. In her address to the convention, SDP President expressed her concern about the poor developmental activities in the district as compared to other parts of the state. Dr Darakhshan Andrabi said that Budgam has always been an exploiting ground of the common populace by the political representatives. “The people of Budgam are prey to the Vote Bank Politics and the political representatives have been exploiting the people by extending all development benefits and the benefits of public welfare schemes and programmes to the selected political class only,” said Dr Darakhshan. She said that there was a great gulf between the common people and the political representatives in the district. She appealed to her political leaders and workers to help common exploited people to get their rights by facilitating them the requisite help to get their day to day problems solved. Dr Darakhshan Andrabi appealed to the youth of the district to come forward to make the movement of the political change in the state a relity in the days to come. “Many crucial unsolved issues of the J&K state need genuine fresh political representatives in the state with guts to solve them. Unfortunately our political representatives are acting as agents and lack will to address to the public aspirations. Advocates of personal interests can never have the courage to plead the genuine public aspirations of the common people of the state,” said Dr Darakhshan Andrabi.

LOUD VOICE FOR DISPLACED KPs

                       24th March 2013

The plight of uncertainty looms large over the future of displaced Kashmiri migrants: DR DarakhshaN
The monthly relief for the displaced KPs per family should be increased keeping in view the uncontrolled price hike’ demands SDP President
“The forced displacement of Kashmiri Pandit Community from their homeland has shattered them completely. They are living a very miserable life away from their lost homes. The pain of being migrants is terrible for this educated and intellectual lot of Kashmiri society,” said Socialistic Democratic Party President Dr Darakhshan Andrabi while addressing a press conference at Jammu today. Accompanied by other party leaders Sanjay Manhas and Kamaljeet Singh, SDP President shared her pain with the media. “Financial relief and temporary arrangements of providing flats to these community members has nothing to do with their permanent settlement and government cannot in any case project this all as a substitute for the permanent settlement of this community. Up to now we have failed at all in devising any plan for the settlement of the grave issue of displacement of this inseparable part of Kashmiri society,” said Dr Darakhshan. Emphasizing the need of immediate increase in the monthly financial relief to the families of this displaced community in view of the increased prices of all commodities, SDP President also demanded the completion of unfinished allotted quota of recruitment in government sector in Kashmir valley from this community at an earliest to address to the dejection caused by the delay. Dr Andrabi termed the displacement of Kashmiri Pandit Community a misfortune for Kashmir which has broader impacts on the resolution of all issues concerning the state. Dr Darakhshan Andrabi said the plight of uncertainty looms large over the future of displaced Kashmiri migrants as nothing serious is being done or even thought of at the state and central government levels for their permanent settlement. “The temporary rehabilitation township at Jagti is also a big problem centre for this disturbed lot as on one hand they are treated as second class citizens when the issue of providing them basic facilities is concerned and again they are not treated as a troubled displaced lot when they are charged with huge electric charges etc. Dr Andrabi said that we have to treat with this community very delicately and harsh attitudes can tell upon their mental health in very big way as they are already reaping the crops of the forced migration from their homeland.

Darakhshan's address at KATHUA

                                                                       18 March 2013
“The monthly wages of SPOs should be raised to Rs 5000/- per month”: Darakhshan
Socialistic Democratic Party President Dr Darakhshan Andrabi today reiterated her demand of increase in the monthly wages of SPOs. She was addressing a party workers meet in Kathua today. Accompanied by SDP General Secretary Ajay Kumar, SDP President in her address appealed to the government to enhance the monthly wages of SPOs to 5000/- per month as the meager amount of three thousand rupees per month was quite insufficient to sustain the families when the inflation has risen beyond ones’ speculation. “SPOs deliver great duties amid high risks and their contribution in maintaining law and order situation in the state has been tremendous and praiseworthy. They should be paid as per their work,” said SDP President. Dr Darakhshan Andrabi appealed to the Chief Minister to take up the issue on priority and enhance the wages of these valorous workers. She also appealed to the government to devise long term regularization policy for SPOS so that a guarantee shields them and their future. “We cannot put these SPOs in uncertainty for a full life. We should give them a safe future,” said Dr Darakhshan Andrabi.

DARAKHSHAN'S PRESS CONFERENCE

The State Assembly has been turned into a flop show: Dr Darakhshan

“The whole of the state Assembly session has been turned into a flop showperformance by both ruling and the opposition representatives. Shouting and hungama making is being done only to score personal political marks,” said Socialistic Democratic Party President Dr Darakhshan Andrabi while addressing a Press Conference in Jammu today. SDP leaders Ajay Kumar, Gursagar Singh, Sanjay Manhas, Kamaljeet Singh and Yousuf Rather were also present on the occasion. Slamming the role of both ruling coalition as well as the entire opposition, SDP President expressed her dismay over dirty score-making hue and cry by the legislatures on non-issues so far  as the public aspirations are concerned. She said that in a democratic system, the people link their hopes to the floor of the house for redressal of their problems but unfortunately our politicians have now nourished the habit of selling sentiments and making mockery of the public aspirations. Dr Andrabi said that the biggest issue of the J&K state is its six decade long ailing political system which has left a common man quite helpless and alien in its own land. Dr Darakhshan said that the people of the state in both the divisions are facing great problems and every time they look towards their elected representatives, they are let down. She said that it had become a fashion for the legislators to create whole lot of hungame in Assembly and waste the time and wealth of the common man without giving them a bit of relief and redressal from the problems. Dr Darakhshan said that a complete political change is the only solution where this old drama-making political system ceases to be and it gets replaced by a fresh new educated and young political order as this was must for the health of the state.

21st February 2013

SDP President welcomes fifty new delegates into the Party
“The people of the state have been deceived by the rulers of the state over the last six decades by selling dreams without letting any scope for their realization. Our political system has become a stingy pond in which no fresh water enters and thus it has started giving bad order,” said Socialistic Democratic Party President Dr Darakhshan Andrabi while addressing the public gathering at Bishnah today after welcoming fifty new delegates into SDP fold. SDP leader Peer Abdul Majeed Shah also addressed the gathering.  SDP General Secretary Ajay Kumar, State and Kamaljeet Singh also were present in the gathering. Many Panchs and sarpanchs led by Romesh Lal, Tarseem Lal and other prominent political workers including Ghirdhari Lal, Rattan Lan, Chajjuu Ram, Banarsi Das, Prem Kumar, Bodh Raj, Sham Lal, Ajay Kumar, Desh Raj, Tarseem, Chamael Singh and Bodh Raj were also inducted as delegates. Welcoming new delegates, SDP President appealed to the people of the state to throw out the rotten lot out of the new Assembly in 2014 elections so that we get rid of the exploitation by the old anti-people political mafia in the state. “The misfortunes of the people of J&K are because of our local politicians as they have exploited the people and fattened their properties and bank accounts by keeping people busy in exploitation. Enough is enough and now is the opportune time for the change,” said Dr Darakhshan. She appealed to the youth of the state to shun their association with these disguised autocrats and get freedom from the present ailing political order. Dr Andrabi said that the politics in the state has existed on only one agenda and that was the loot of the rights of the common misinformed or uninformed population of the state. Dr Darakhshan Andrabi slammed the present government for its failure in curbing the funds-misappropriation at the grass root level in all spheres of life in J&K.  “Our politicians are only the trouble makers for the people at large and their approaches and plans are consciously targeted at polarizing the regions of the state. They are the enemies of the state’s integrity,” said Darakhshan Andrabi.

Indo-Pak Love & Peace Day 2013

13th February, 2013 (Valentine's Day Eve)

“The hate game between India and Pakistan should end now”: Darakhshan
On Indo-Pak Love & Peace Day Darakhshan sends her Valentine Message to Pakistan
“The hate game between India and Pakistan should end now. It has ruined two generations of the people of this state and we cannot afford to transfer this bloody legacy to our new generation. Peace and goodwill should replace terrorism and bloodshed,” said Socialistic Democratic Party President Dr Darakhshan Andrabi while addressing at the Indo-Pak Love & peace Day celebration organized by Socialistic Democratic Party as usual on the eve of Valentine’s Day at the Octroi Post on the Indo-Pak border in Suchetgarh area of Jammu today. Earlier she led her supporters in lighting candles in front of the image of Shaheed Lans Nayak Hem Raj who was beheaded by Pakistani troops at LOC in Poonch recently.  Shaheed was given a floral tribute on the occasion. The inscription on the image read: “We salute you for the great sacrifice you made. We cannot tolerate the disrespect of our brave soldiers anymore.” Dr Darakhshan Andrabi sent messages of love through white pigeons whom she flew to Pakistan in which an appeal was made to the politicians and the army top brass of that country to kindly desist from using guns in Jammu & Kashmir and change their policy of hatred and conspiracies for the good of the people of J&K specially and that of  the populace of both the countries generally. Dr Darakhshan and her team dispatched five hundred heart shaped balloons across the border with messages of love and peace printed on them. “Ours is a people’s initiative and only such public initiatives on both sides of the fence  will be instrumental in changing the six decade old hatred and ultimately change the situation of misfortunes to a situation of trust and love,” said Dr Darakhshan Andrabi. She said that gun culture had ruined Pakistan to the core and the country was being run by the terrorists there making the safety of common man causality there. “India and Pakistan have faced the brunt of terrorism and in spite of targeting each other; we should join hands to fight the propagators and executers of hatred in whole sub-continent. That will be good for both of us,” said Darakhshan Andrabi.
